Vincent D'Onofrio Joins Daredevil as The Kingpin

While much of the focus has been on Doctor Strange and Ant-Man as of late, Marvel is preparing to shoot Daredevil, the first of its Netflix series which take place in MCU continuity, next month. Charlie Cox has been slotted to play the Man Without Fear and now Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Men in Black) has been cast as Wilson Fisk, The Kingpin and one of Daredevil's greatest antagonists.

Marvel announced the casting yesterday afternoon through it's website. D'Onofrio is a highly recognizable actor and brings a certain level of intensity and weirdness to the role of Fisk, which Marvel described as follows:
D’Onofrio will play Wilson Fisk, a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell’s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil.
Fans of Marvel Comics know just how big of a threat Fisk is to Murdock and just how long and storied their rivalry is. While The Kingpin was originally a Spidey villain, he is most well-known for his long battles with Daredevil and, in particular, for outing Matt Murdock as the blind vigilante. While we don't know much about what direction the series will take, it's encouraging, though unsurprising, to know Kingpin will be a part of it.

As for D'Onofrio as Fisk...the picture above says enough. While comic book Kingpin was friggin' huge and never afraid to use his size to intimidate, his mind was an equally dangerous weapon as Marvel's Head of Television, Jeph Loeb said: "Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero." D'Onofrio is a badass. This is wonderful casting.

What do you guys make of D'Onofrio and Daredevil? Sound off like you've got a pair! (Private Pyle reference)
