Last night's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., entitled "Providence", had a few nice reveals and lots of Easter Eggs for hardcore comic readers. Next week's episode promises to deliver a classic comic bad guy as well as reveal the identity of Coulson's cellist.
With their world turned upside down, Coulson races to save the life of his one true love as the mystery of 'The Cellist,' which began in Marvel's The Avengers is finally revealed.
Coulson and team will be working against Marvel comic villain Marcus Daniels, a.k.a. Blackout, played by Patrick Brennan who is after Coulson's "Cellist", played by Amy Acker. The title, "The Only Light in the Darkness", refers to how Blackout see the Cellist. In an official release from Marvel.com, Brennan said of the character:
"This guy, Marcus Daniels, a.k.a. Blackout, was shrouded in darkness, his soul, everything about him was shrouded in darkness until he comes across this Cello player. And the music was the only light that came into his soul, and it gave him hope and it gave him some sense of what light was."
