Guardians of the Galaxy Goodies: First Clip, Nathan Fillion Cameo and Reshoots with Gamora and Nebula

Yesterday was full of Guardians of the Galaxy news as MTV released the first extended clip of the film, it was revealed that fan-favorite (and longtime Joss Whedon and James Gunn collaborator) Nathan Fillion may have joined the film's cast and stars Karen Gillian and Zoe Saldana began fight coordination for reshoots.
As part of MTV's Movie Awards Takeover, the entertainment company featured the first extended clip for James Gunn's upcoming entry into the MCU. The clip is awfully familiar as it features Chris Pratt's Peter Quill/Star-Lord and Dijimon Hounsou's Korath the Pursuer running into each other as Quill is about to come into possession of the the film's mysterious orb, thought to be another Infinity Stone. This extended clip shows us a little of Star-Lord's savvy:

Next up, and possibly most exciting to longtime fans of Joss Whedon, is a video clip (via Hypeable) taken from the Firefly panel at last weekends St. Louis Comicon. Firefly alum Nathan Fillion, a longtime fanboy favorite to take on the role of Hank Pym in Ant-Man of to join the MCU at all, responded to a question about "wanting" to join James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. Fillion teased fans everywhere by responding, “Wanting to get a part… or maybe did. I’m just saying maybe. Maybe you’ll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits." You'll want to skip to about the 38:30 mark of the video to get the goodies:

We know that the film just completed one round of reshoots with another round of reshoots taking place now. A few James Gunn comments may shed some light on the Fillion comments.

First, one he tweeted yesterday AFTER the new of Fillion's tease spread:

And secondly, a comment he made concerning what he was hoping to accomplish with the first round of reshoots as reported by @GuardGalaxy:

Given those two together, it certainly seems Fillion has joined the MCU in some capacity. There's no way to know, but we can speculate like crazy. A couple of solid ideas have passed through my crazy head. He could make a wonderful Adam Warlock. Put a beard on him and he'd make for a great J'son, Emperor of the Spartoi Empire and father to Peter Quill, who we're sure to meet in some capacity.

I'm sure that Gunn and Marvel will do their best to try to keep Fillion's role a secret, but in this day and age that may be a tough job. With about four months left until release, Guardians is really picking up steam and is becoming a highly anticipated film. It's also about the right time for Marvel to film the mid-credit and/or post-credit scenes for which their films have become famous. It's possible Fillion's character, whomever he may be, will be a part of one of those scenes.

Finally, speaking of another round of reshoots, Zoe Saldana, who plays Guardian Gamora, also tweeted the following picture yesterday:

The tweet was retweeted by Karen Gillian, who plays the villainous Nebula, and director James Gunn. It's pretty obvious that they're doing some pick-ups or reshoots for the highly anticipated showdown between Gamora and Nebula that was teased in the trailer.

In case all this talk about the film made you want to check out that GREAT first trailer again, here it is:
