Guardians of the Galaxy Updates Galore: First Poster, James Gunn Gives Some Scoops and Rocket SPEAKS!

After the jump there's a bunch of brand new stuff on Guardians of the Galaxy including official intros of each character, the first poster and a clip of a podcast in which James Gunn may just give away the inclusion of a certain Cosmic powerhouse I've been telling you would be there all along!

Here's the poster, revealed by Marvel today. I usually don't go too crazy over posters, but I think this one is relatively cool.

Next up are 5 videos which each serve as an introduction to a different member of the Guardians. Most of the footage is from the trailer, however, in Rocket's intro you get a quick listen to Bradley Cooper's voice over and the Groot intro features a quick bit by Vin Diesel, though not in character.

Finally, courtesy of Pointless Podcast, we get a 5 minute clip of a longer podcast in which James Gunn does a quick Q & A. There's plenty of goodies in it, including news on the film rights to the Skrulls and the Badoon, but I found his response to the question about the inclusion of Adam Warlock and Captain Marvel in the film was very interesting. If you've been around here, you know I've been on the Warlock bandwagon for a while and recently made the deduction, based on a lot of evidence and a Twitter exchange with Drew McWeeney, that Warlock would appear in Guardians of the Galaxy. Nothing James Gunn said made me change my mind...

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits--Rocket, a gun toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Sladana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillian, Dijimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.
