And Arrow is back with a bang! As if we expected anything less... Fresh off of holidays and over eating, tonight was the perfect does of my normal life without Christmas music and too much food. It was all green, all night, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In this week's episode of Arrow, "Blast Radius", we jumped right into action. With a shiny new mask, an ex girlfriend with an unknown drug problem, a soon-to-be sidekick with new abilities, and a depressed Felicity, Arrow is officially back. While we unfortunately didn't have anything red and flashy this week, I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait when we do. We did at least hear a few "Barry" name drops tonight as Felicity returned from Central City, only to be ripped apart by Oliver for being absent when he needed her. Someone's jealous...
Tonight we got to see some pretty awesome stunt work as well as superb acting, especially from Emily Bett Rickards who's performance delivered a new side of Felicity that was so refreshing to see. We've also been getting a new side to Katie Cassidy's Laurel, as she struggles with drug abuse, which I feel is being delivered equally as well.
In the big scheme of things, Starling City is under threat by someone who calls himself Shrapnel and is detonating bombs throughout the city, and is proving himself hard to track, even for Felicity. Insert more "You're my Felicity and I'm hot and blonde and complicated and way better than Barry" friction between Oliver and Felicity. In other news, Sebastian Blood continues to work the public and the underground, while Laurel does some investigating of her own, revealing some interesting things about Blood. In the meantime, Roy finds himself in a couple of peculiar situations with Thea, also revealing a few interesting things about himself. All in all, I don't see how all these story lines could possibly wrap up in the remainder of the season, but as usual, I have an insurmountable amount of faith in the Arrow crew and I cannot wait to watch it all unfold. Welcome back, people.
