Additions to the Cast of The CW's The Flash

Grant Gustin's 2-episode arc on CW's Arrow was such a success that the network scrapped it's plan to use another episode of the show as a backdoor-pilot to The Flash and moved ahead with plans to give the new series a proper pilot. With work complete on a script, the network has set to work on filling out the cast.

The Hollywood Reporter first learned that Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order) has landed to role of Detective West. West will act as a mentor to Barry and is the father of Iris West who, in the comics, marries Barry. The report says that the West family took Allen in after the murder of his mother and his father's subsequent imprisonment and that Detective West supports Barry in the search to find his mother's true killer and clear his father.

The role of that killer has also been filled, according to Deadline. Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries) has landed the role of Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne. Cosnett's character, rumored to have a mysterious past and to be keeping a dark secret, is the adaptation of DC's Eobard Thawne, a time-traveler that becomes the Flash's main antagonist, Professor Zoom/The Reverse-Flash.

Also joining the cast, according to Deadline, is Danielle Panabaker in the role of Caitlin Snow, a bioengineer at S.T.A.R. labs. Snow goes on , in the comics, to become Killer Frost.. It's likely that her role will be altered a bit in the show to make her a bit more villainous.
