The Avengers Will Take a War Machine into Battle Against Ultron

Earlier today it was reported that actor Don Cheadle, who took up the role of Colonel James Rhodes in Iron Man 2, would be returning to action in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It seems now that the folks over at HitFix have, in fact, confirmed, that Iron Patriot/War Machine will be involved and, they report, play a "key role" in helping Earth's Mightiest Heroes take on the villainous A.I., Ultron!

While the scale or Cheadle's role wasn't described, it marks the 5th character I can recall hearing that would play a "key" or "major" or "vital" role in the film and none of those are named Iron Man, Captain America or Thor. I have, for a while now, subscribed to the theory that Avengers: Age of Ultron would be a breaking off point for the MCU and that Phase 3 was likely to start giving us more than just the core 4 Avengers. Cheadle's addition to the cast, along with mutant sibs Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, could be a step in that direction as Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige begin tinkering with the Avengers roster, a tactic that's sure to keep the stories fresh and audiences engaged.

Is War Machine one too many?Or, like in the comics, can you not have too many Avengers? Personally, when facing Ultron, one of the baddest baddies there is, I'm not sure they can have enough reinforcements, especially given the impending doom of at least one of them...
