Marvel Confirms What the World Knows: Paul Rudd is Ant-Man

Marvel has given official confirmation to yesterday's reports, and months of rumors, that Paul Rudd will, presumably, be Dr. Henry Pym in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man.

Kevin Feige, head honcho of Marvel Studios, had the following to say about casting Rudd in the role:

"When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studio's film is finding the right star. We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we'd ever met with about doing the work, we knew we'd found the right guy. We couldn't be more excited for our audiences to see what he's going to do to bring Ant-Man to life."
Meanwhile, director Edgar Wright took to Twitter to get the following video out there:

While it's settling to have Marvel officially confirm the news, this has been the expectation of this site and many others for months now. I'm on the record as being 100% behind this casting. Rudd will do an excellent job as Pym. For those of you who think he can ONLY do comedy, you will be in for a surprise. While this film will see more than its share of comedic moments (it's an Edgar Wright film, afterall) it will take Pym down some interesting roads and Rudd will be able to navigate those as well as anyone.

This gets the ball rolling for casting and it won't be too awfully long now before we get our Jan and Scott Lang and possibly a villain or two! It is, of course, possible that Rudd has been cast as Lang, though I see him more as Pym. What do you guys think? Which Ant-Man is he going to be?
