Marvel's Jessica Jones Series Finds a Writer

When Marvel and Netflix announced their deal last week that would bring original series straight to the leading TV-on-Demand provider, many people asked the question, "Who is Jessica Jones?"  One person who knows her well is screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who has been attached to the project since Marvel first started developing it 3 years ago, and, if Deadline's sources are accurate, will be redeveloping the show for Netflix.

Rosenberg, who is best known for writing the screenplays for the Twilight films, looks to join Drew Goddard, who is expected to write the Daredevil series, on board the Marvel-Netflix venture. Deadline also mentions that Jessica Jones is expected to be the second series to hit the airwaves, following Goddard's Daredevil

While I'm not a fan of Twilight, I am currently watching another project that Rosenberg was a part of: Dexter.  I am happy that Rosenberg, who has put quite a great deal of time into developing the series for Marvel, is going to get the opportunity to write the series. If, after 3 years, Marvel still wants her on board, they must feel they have something good on their hands. Both rumors today have me me looking more forward to the onset of these 13-episode series.  I'm sure there will be more to come in the upcoming days and weeks so stand by and I'll get it to you as it becomes available.
