According to El Mayimbe, who has a very strong track record when it comes to his scoops, especially compared to some other sites, Marvel will bring Kingsley's character back in a One Shot which will feature THE REAL MANDARIN. The scoop reveals that the real Mandarin is quite displeased with Iron Man 3 baddie Aldrich Killian and Trevor Slattery's "portrayal" of him and will "set the record straight." Just how he's going to go about that and which actor will get to be the Mandarin are currently unknown, but this seems to be an olive branch from Marvel to the legions of fans who were very upset with the studio for the way they introduced one of their iconic characters to the MCU.
Personally, I enjoyed Kingley's role in the film and had no issues with how the studio chose to handle the Mandarin. I'm curious to see how this attempt at reconciliation with the fans will go. It could make things much worse just as easily as it could appease the fans.
What are your thoughts on Kingsley's Slattery? Marvel's efforts to appease the fan base and bring the real Mandarin to the MCU? Who should play him? Let me know below!
