A few days back, super-duper-Latino-scooper, El Mayimbe tweeted that the script for Guardians of the Galaxy was one of Marvel's best to date. Then he dropped a little bit of magic on us:
So, if El Mayimbe isn't pulling legs, Adam Warlock, the weirdest dude in the Marvel universe is going to be an Easter Egg in Guardians of the Galaxy!? This is interesting business...
The folkses at Comic Book Cast say he'll be in some cryogenic tube but I'd urge everyone to do a little background on Adam Warlock and see that, in some cases, he has put himself into a cocoon for extended periods of time to regenerate or for the purpose of self-preservation. I wonder if this isn't the sort of suspended animation we will see for Adam Warlock. This could be the creation of Adam Warlock or it could be him coming out of a cocoon after taking some time off. Either way it is an interesting addition.
Either way, if true, this stokes my fire as Warlock was a part of my MIA in the MCU Part 2: The Cosmic. He is connected to a lot of huge events in the Cosmic portion of the Marvel universe and his inclusion in the MCU portends big things.
The following is a screenshot from the mid-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World. I found it HERE.
While there is no way to be sure that this is the cocoon of Adam Warlock, it certainly could be and does bear an uncanny resemblance to the comic version. Look for yourself:
For comparison's sake, here's an image of Warlock's actual comic cocoon from an issue of Fantastic Four:
What are your thoughts guys? Have we seen our first look at Cosmic powerhouse Adam Warlock?
