Simon Pegg Addresses Ant-Man Rumors

In an article for The Huffington Post, actor Simon Pegg explains that while he's thrilled for friend, frequent collaborator and Ant-Man director Edgar Wright to make the film, that he does not want a role in the 2015 release.

Pegg has been a staple in Wright's films including the current theatrical release, The World's End, the conclusion to Wright's Cornetto Trilogy which also included Shaun of the Dead (Steelbook) (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + UltraViolet) and Hot Fuzz (Steelbook) (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + UltraViolet).  Following a recent visit to Marvel Studios, Pegg tweeted a photo of himself pointing at a picture of Ant-Man in a mural.  Of course, internet nuttiness ensued and before you knew it, Pegg was cast as Ant-Man.  Pegg tells the post that it went through his head that people may get the wrong idea and hints that he may just enjoy that sort of thing.

News has been scarce on Wright's Ant-Man and, having seemingly been "in-development" for a while and with Charlie Chaplin first rumored to land the lead, it's not surprising that many people are grasping at straws.  If you haven't seen it yet, check out the Ant-Man test footage put together by Wright for last year's Comic-Con and get an idea of just how cool an Ant-Man solo film is going to be when it hits theaters November 1, 2015.
