Ant-Man Set to Move into Pre-Production

The very nerdy folks at Collider.com recently had a chat with awesome chap and Ant-Man director Edgar Wright.  If you don't know who Edgar Wright is I sort of feel sorry for you and I hope you immediately figure it out.  To help you get an idea of his comic sensibilities, I offer you this clip from the extras of Superbad, in which he interviews Jonah Hill and Micheal Cera, before I get into the meat of this article (clearly hilarious but NSFW)

So yeah, that's the guy who is in charge of putting Ant-Man into the MCU...and, if you've ever seen his other movies, you'll know he is going to bring an entirely different vision to Marvel than what we've seen thus far.  Ant-Man, which is scheduled to hit theaters November 6, 2015, is likely to bring the genre-bending/genre-mashing style that Marvel Studios are hoping for.  Wright has described Ant-Man as fitting into the big picture while still being a standalone film (that's an interesting thought) and has intimated that we will see both Hank Pym and Scott Lang in the film.  I, for my own part, am very interested in seeing where this film goes and how it ties into the MCU.

At any rate, Collider sat down with Wright and talked with him about quite a few things, including the schedule for filming Ant-Man, which has been on Marvel's docket for roughly...forever!  Apparently, the film will go into pre-production in October and begin filming sometime in 2014, after Wright, who has been working his bollocks off, takes a "holiday."

Head to Collider for the entire interview and stay tuned here for more...BTW, sign up for the Brain Splatter mailing list and make sure you don't miss out on a bit of the action!
